Avoiding Shipping Scams: Stay Safe When Tracking Your Order

At LBFG, customer trust and security are paramount. Unfortunately, with the increase in online shopping, shipping scams have become more common—particularly impersonation attempts involving reputable delivery services such as Royal Mail.
We want to ensure that every customer receiving a parcel from LBFG has the tools and information needed to avoid falling victim to these fraudulent schemes.

Common Shipping Scam Tactics

Scammers often send fake messages—via SMS, email, or even social media—claiming to be from Royal Mail or another carrier. These messages usually suggest that:

  • A parcel is awaiting delivery but cannot be released until a fee is paid.
  • Delivery has failed and needs to be rescheduled by clicking a link.
  • Additional information or payment is required to complete customs processing.

These messages typically contain malicious links or request payment details. Once clicked, they may lead to phishing websites designed to steal your personal or financial information.

Important Information for LBFG Customers

Here’s how to protect yourself and what you need to know when tracking a delivery from us:
We will never ask you for additional payment to release a delivery.
If you receive a message requesting payment, especially a small amount like £1.99 or £2.99, treat it as suspicious and do not click any links.
Always use trusted sources to track your parcel.
The tracking number we provide can be verified in two ways:
Directly through the tracking page on our website.
By copying the tracking number and pasting it into www.royalmail.com (for Royal Mail shipments) or the website of the relevant courier if otherwise specified.
For international orders, VAT and customs duty may be due. These payments are requested by the delivery company (e.g., Royal Mail, UPS) on behalf of the local customs authority. However, these charges are only ever visible via the official tracking page or confirmed through the carrier directly.
