Stereolithography (SLA) 3D Printing Service

Stereolithography (SLA), commonly known as SLA 3D printing or SLA printing, was the first additive manufacturing process ever developed and continues to be a cornerstone of precision 3D printing technologies. Also referred to as resin 3D printing, SLA uses a photosensitive resin that is selectively cured by ultraviolet (UV) light to build parts layer by layer. This process is highly valued for its ability to produce incredibly smooth surfaces, sharp edges, and intricate details, making it an excellent choice for applications such as functional prototypes, dental models, jewelry design, and high-resolution visual models.

We provide on-demand SLA 3D printing services to businesses across the UK, ensuring the highest quality resin prints with fast turnaround times. Whether you need to create highly detailed prototypes, manufacture complex geometries, or achieve exceptional surface finishes, our SLA printing service offers reliable and precise results tailored to your needs.

Our advanced SLA technology supports parts up to 1700 x 800 x 600 mm, accommodating a wide range of project requirements. For larger models, we offer a seamless assembly service, where parts can be split, printed separately, and expertly assembled to maintain their structural integrity and visual appeal.

With the precision, durability, and versatility of SLA 3D printing, our resin 3D printing service is ideal for delivering projects that demand fine detail and accuracy. Whatever your requirements, we are here to help you achieve outstanding results.

Quality, Accuracy, and Layer Thickness

Compared to FDM, the SLA process permits the printer of vastly finer details but the parts may not be as mechanically strong.
Regardless of infill ratio, the minimum wall thickness is 1.2mm.
All our SLA prints are produced with a 50µm (0.05mm) layer height/resolution.

Design Guidelines for SLA Parts

To ensure high-quality output with our FDM 3D pringint process, we recommend the following design parameters:

  • Unsupported walls: minimum 0.8mm
  • Supported walls: minimum 0.8mm
  • Minimum feature size: 2.0mm
  • Minimum wall thickness: 1.2mm
  • Minimum hole diametre: 2.0mm

Our engineers will review every order prior to production and will notify you if any feature is non-printable or may result in poor quality, particularly when creating complex geometries suing the FDM manufacturing process.

    Material Options for SLA Printing

We offer a broad range of different materials to suit a wide variety of applications and industries. Whether you’re working on rapid prototyping, functional parts, or decorative components, we can help you choose the right material for your needs.

    Standard Resin (ABS like)

A plant-based, biodegradable filament prized for its ease of printing and crisp detail. PLA runs at low temperatures, warps minimally, and produces a glossy finish, ideal for beginners, decorative models, prototypes, and concept proofs where high strength or heat resistance aren’t critical.

    Hard-Tough Resin

A high-performance, impact-resistant resin engineered for durability and precision. Hard-tough resin combines exceptional strength with flexibility, making it ideal for functional prototypes, mechanical parts, and end-use products that demand toughness. It resists cracking under stress, maintains dimensional stability, and deliver sharp detail, perfect for applications where robustness and reliability are critical

    Transparent Resin

A crystal-clear, high-clarity resin designed for optical transparency and fine detail. Transparent resin cures to a smooth frosty finish, with an optional glass-like coating for enhanced clarity, though this may soften fine details and embossing. Ideal for lenses, fluidics, and display models, but note that parts with internal volumes (e.g., bottles) may require multi-part printing and assembly, as the coating cannot be easily applied to enclosed areas.

⚠️ All SLA resins are highly sensitive to UV light.
We highly recommend that all SLA parts intended for outside or direct sunlight use be coated with a UV protecting primer or paint.
